Discover the North together

family holidays in Flensburg

Flensburg has a lot to offer as Germany’s northernmost city: the fjord is just a stone’s throw away, Denmark can be reached quickly by bicycle and the Baltic Sea is nearby too. There is something here for adventurers of all ages. But of course, the point of holidays is also to relax – perhaps spending a pleasant day at the beach.

Will your family holiday be an active one, or more on the leisurely side? That’s for you to decide, of course. We have put together a few tips to help you plan your time.

Activities in Flensburg for the whole family
You can experience some hands-on science at the Phänomenta Science Centre. The Jumphouse is the place for those who are stars on the trampoline. The nearby Freizeitpark Tolk Schau amusement park is also a real experience for young and old alike.

Holiday fun by the sea
There is a lot to experience on land in Flensburg and the surrounding area, but water lovers will not be short of options either: the whole family can enjoy the fun pool and spa at the Fördeland Therme thermal spa in Glücksburg.

Water is also literally on your doorstep, thanks to the exclusive location on the Flensburg Fjord and proximity to the Baltic Sea. You can plunge into the cool water either at the Solitüde beach or in Glücksburg at this Baltic seaside resort. A range of water sports will keep you fit and ensure you have plenty of fun at the same time.

Dolphin spotting?
There are often many sailing ships and water sports enthusiasts out on the fjord, especially during the summer months. With a little luck, you might also spot some porpoises and dolphins.
