Our holiday flat, See 11, in Niehuus
The “See 11” holiday flat is situated right on the shores of Lake Niehuuser, very close to the Danish border. The town of Flensburg is only about 5 km away. The holiday flat is part of a detached house situated at the end of a cul-de-sac on the edge of a nature reserve and offers private access to the lake. Here you can enjoy nature with its diverse flora and fauna and go on numerous excursions in the beautiful surrounding area. The flat features a south-facing terrace with unobstructed views of the lake. In the surrounding area, you can go hiking, sailing, windsurfing, cycling and much more. A wide range of cultural activities in the region’s towns, such as Schleswig, Eckernförde, Husum, Glücksburg, Sonderborg and others, invites visitors to enjoy day trips.
This flat comprises 1 bedroom, 1 dining room with an open-plan kitchen including a dishwasher and a wood-burning stove, and 1 living room. The living room features a flat-screen smart TV. There is also a bathroom with a shower. All the living areas offer lovely lake views. The décor has a Scandinavian feel, with light, pastel colours and cosy real wood parquet flooring. The large windows let in plenty of light and draw the eye towards the natural surroundings. Right by the property, a jetty invites you to relax or go for a swim in the lake.
The lively city of Flensburg, with its university and harbour, is easily accessible by bike from Niehuus. Here, you’ll find cafés, restaurants, clothes shops and much more. There’s a wide range of dining options – from fish rolls to a meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant. At the tip of Flensburg’s harbour, the panoramic views of the city and the fjord invite you to take a stroll. The townscape is characterised by many Danish visitors and Danish-speaking residents. There is plenty to discover in the numerous old merchant’s courtyards. Flensburg’s old town, with its buildings – some of which are very old and well-preserved – is the most popular part of Flensburg alongside the harbour.

Information about the area
The Ochsenweg is a 500-metre walk away. The Ochsenweg, which is around 245 km long, was the main overland route between Denmark and northern Germany in the 19th century. It served as a cattle track for farmers, but was also used by knights, soldiers, merchants, pilgrims and beggars as a direct route to the south. The Wassersleben beach is just 3.5 km away.
The rent per night is €100. There is an additional charge of €30 for bed linen and towels. We charge a fee of €140 for the compulsory end-of-stay cleaning.
